Ok, first off it's -10 armor while attacking, so as long as you're not attacking when you're getting pummeled(or the other team is spiking you, barring armor ignoring spikes) you're absolutly fine using it. Although if you really aren't that good at reading a battle and are up vs a ranger spike or air spike or anything like that, just use somthing else.
Armor is less effective at higher levels, meaning that the more armor you have the less it actualy helps you. If you take 100 elemental non-armor penetrating or ignoring damage, at 80 al you'll take about 71 damage. At 70 armor you'll take about 85 damage. Really not a huge difference, but over time, or versus a spike it can be lethal. As long as you use it with caution you shouldn't encounter any problems at all. |
